The Opportunity:
The Environment & Sustainability Specialist will lead the continual development and execution of the environmental monitoring program across the value chain for on-ground operations.
The Environment & Sustainability Specialist will provide technical input to reduce the pollution risk and ensure compliance with obligations as demonstrated through monitoring activities.
You will provide assessment and analysis of information with a view to improve the organisational environmental sustainability performance.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Be the technical expert on environmental monitoring across energy, waste, contamination, and air quality
- Subject matter expert in containment and treatment systems to prevent pollution and deliver continuous improvement through the design of controls
- Lead the development, execution and continual improvement of the environmental monitoring program
- Manage contractor performance for environmental monitoring activities to ensure effective delivery against scope requirements
- Support the collection of sustainability data across the onground network and reporting of performance metrics
- Undertake environmental assessment and analysis of monitoring data
Skills and Competencies:
- Extensive experience in designing and leading monitoring programs across an organisation to meet strategic objectives
- Extensive experience in data management and analysis from environment and sustainability monitoring
- Technical expertise and demonstrated experience in the management of energy, waste, contamination, and air quality
- Demonstrated experience in delivering environmental projects to improve controls
- Demonstrated experience in project management and the ability to prioritise and deliver work on schedule, whilst working on multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Bachelor degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or Science (or similar), and 8 years' industry experience within this technical discipline
Eligibility:
Must be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
