Please note:

Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PPA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Transport and Planning.

Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.


Permanent position for a Regional Planner to provide high quality advice and service to the Minister for Planning and other key stakeholders, in particular local Councils and other government agencies in relation to land use planning and development matters.

The positions are part of professional teams in Regional Victoria.


Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in planning or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in and/or knowledge of statutory and strategic land use planning within a metropolitan and regional planning context in Victoria.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Victorian planning system, particularly the statutory and strategic planning framework, relevant legislation and local government planning practices and knowledge of regional planning and regional development issues.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is in Ballarat.
