An outstanding opportunity has arisen within our Marketing team to undertake the role of
Public Relations & Media Advisor on a part-time ( 3 days per week) 12 month contract with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

We are seeking a Public Relations & Media Advisor that can manage reactive media issues and initiatives, and develop proactive opportunities to enhance and maintain the Hawaiian brand.

Essential Duties

  • Essential duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: _
  • Develop and execute a communications strategy for Hawaiian's partnerships and community initiatives, including working with media and digital channels
  • Manage incident media management, for all Hawaiian assets, developing statements, attending incidents where required
  • Prepare media releases, publicity packages/ media kits to support Hawaiian initiatives where appropriate
  • Assist and Advise the Executive and Leadership team with issues and crisis management as required
  • Research and develop a proactive communications plan for Hawaiian partnership and community initiatives
  • Advise and assist in the development of communication plans and community engagement for Hawaiian infrastructure projects
  • Prepare engaging, high quality and strategically aligned messaging and content across traditional and digital media channels, within a fastpaced, dynamic environment
  • Maintain effective working relationships with media contacts
  • Monitor the external environment for issues and proactively develop strategies and responses to assist with management of the Hawaiian brand reputation
  • Media monitoring for Hawaiian brand health checks across all owned digital channels, and community forums in Hawaiian catchments
  • Content writing for all corporate channels, website, and all Hawaiian assets including, Hawaiian branded shopping centres, Claremont Quarter, and Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa
  • Monitor RAP and incident reports for potential issues.
Qualification Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in Public Relations, Corporate Affairs and Media roles in large organisations.
  • Superior communication capabilities and proven experience working with Executive and Leadership Teams.
  • Proven experience in developing relationships with stakeholders and consulting on best practice corporate affairs, media and change communications.
  • Highly competent with digital platforms in particular Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent grammar
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Welldeveloped planning and organisation skills including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple deadlines whilst delivering accurate and quality work
  • Welldeveloped problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills with ability to develop creative solutions to problems, identify the need for improvement and implement change
  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to exercise judgment and resolve issues independently.
