About the opportunity

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Capability and Organisational Development Manager to provide exceptional people experience, drive greater employee engagement and enable an inclusive and high performing culture.


You will contribute by:


  • Manage a team of HR professionals that work collaboratively with leaders, departments and teams to improve culture, leadership, performance, engagement and gender equality in Energy Safe, through enterprisewide and customised, local approaches.
  • Manage and lead Energy Safe's People Matter Survey and implementation of associated cultural initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the business to implement HR strategy through the design and implementation of humancentred initiatives and interventions that help build a constructive and safe culture.
  • Build leadership capability across Energy Safe through engaging with executives and other senior leaders and implementing leadership and talent development strategies aligned to Energy Safe's needs.
  • Provide expert and strategic advice, information, resources and tools to leaders and staff on organisational development, culture, leadership, performance development, staff engagement and gender equality, and coach others in these capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the business and Head of PE&HR to implement Learning and Development strategy through identifying critical capability and competence needs and provide learning solutions aligned with employee life cycle.
  • Improve gender equality in Energy Safe through leading implementation of the Gender Equality Action Plan and other requirements under the Gender Equality Act 2020.
  • Develop reports and provides advice and recommendations to support organisational goals and provision of workforce planning activities.

To be successful, you'll have:


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in managing people with an emphasis on coaching and developing staff to enhance HR function capability and ensure service delivery excellence.
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of high performance and demonstrating leadership style that is consistent with public sector values.
  • Experience in designing and implementing learning and development principles, capability frameworks, tools, and methodologies that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, collaboration and negotiation skills to build and maintain respectful collaborative and effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience with employee engagement, leadership development and capability development.
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring skills and a passion for continuous learning.
