We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Controller who will contribute by:
- Checking and processing all creditor and customers' invoices into the financial system for timely and accurate preparation of payment for approval and payment in line with ESV policies and procedures
- Maintaining creditors' and customers' database and Masterfile
- Processing journals as required for approval
- Administering petty cash
- Generating and distributing invoices, including levy invoices, ensuring the appropriate authorisation for all debtor invoices issued
- Proactively monitoring weekly ageing report and ensure collections
- Reconciling daily bank statements and monthend balance sheets
- Arranging for the daily receipting on multiple forms of payments to ESV bank accounts. Preparing deposits for the bank on a weekly basis
- Providing training to all stakeholders on the use of the accounting system
- Managing activity in the accounts inbox to ensure queries are responded
- Communicating with int/ext stakeholders regarding invoicing and payments
- Assisting in month end closing out the accounts and reporting requirements
To be successful, you'll have:
- A Commerce or Accounting diploma or certificate
- Significant accounts payable/receivable exp in a similar role in the public sector or in a midlarge sized company
- Demonstrated exp operating within strict rules, delegations and legal requirements
- High level attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrated strong communication skills, including exp liaising with int/ext stakeholders and maintaining an effective working relationship
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proven time management, prioritisation and strong admin skills
