At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive and to achieve this, we need a talented Senior Business and Data Analyst to join our BCBS239 Team and Information Delivery.

The Team sits within our Risk Division and our purpose is to enhance our Risk Data Management capabilities, in line with the BCBS239 principles to drive an uplift in the quality of our Risk Data Aggregation and Reporting practices and decision-making processes.

Information Delivery is charged with transforming the Risk division, bringing "best in class" capability to bear with the Business.


Our data analysts deeply understand the power of data to generate quality customer insights, manage information and identify trends to accelerate sound business decisions.


Your data management skillset with an active understanding of industry trends will enable you to embed data management capabilities into the teams, partnering with Business and Technology teams to ensure capability development is aligned and in-line with enhancing our Risk Data Management.

You will influence strategic direction by translating insights into practical business recommendations, communicating team objectives and presenting data in digestible, logical and compelling ways.

Your role will be critical in supporting and driving adoption of the Data Management and Governance agenda for the division - including the Enterprise Data Governance Framework, Standards and Policies.

What will your day look like

Source and validate data from a variety of sources (Oracle, Teradata, Big Data platforms [Hadoop], enterprise data assets, core mainframe systems) to combine, synthesise and analyse to generate insights
Support key data platform and/or data scheduling jobs to deliver insights to key audiences (e.g. frontline, other tribes)
Analyse system and data from different sources and capture metadata
Support individual missions of Squads through data analysis
Work in collaborative teams to explore business initiatives
Mature the Data Chapter role by educating and coaching peers on data analyst techniques and principles
Define and conduct tests to validate data is fit for purpose and remediation calculations are correct and accurate
Attend stand-up to align progress on your individual tasks
Understanding and capturing data catalogue in Google Cloud
What will you bring?

5+ years of experience working data-focus environment
Great understanding of data management best practices
Process mapping skills
System analysis experience
Data analysis experience and understanding of data journey
Cloud experience (GCP, AWS)
Effective communication skills including the ability to translate technical into non-technical for presentation to all stakeholders
Ability to define, plan and execute testing of data
A growth mindset and desire to continually learn and share new techniques and ideas

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
