INDUSTRY AND AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, SCREEN NSW - CREATE NSW

  • Exciting opportunity for an Industry and Audience specialist to join Screen NSW and contribute to the shaping of arts, screen and culture across the state
  • Clerk Grade 9/10 role based in Sydney
  • Fulltime, temporary engagement through to June 202
  • Base salary ranges from $116,211 to $128,061 per annum plus superannuation

About the Role


Part of the Department of Enterprise, Industry and Trade cluster, Create NSW focusses specifically on achieving the NSW Government's priority of fostering excellence in arts, music, screen and culture in NSW.

We work collaboratively with artists and arts workers, the arts and cultural sector and our partners within government to provide a range of support services including management of grants of varying scales to recipient government and non-government organisations; overseeing more than $2.

5b in cultural infrastructure projects to create the spaces where arts can flourish; and managing a portfolio of arts and heritage properties predominantly leased to cultural organisations


Screen NSW focusses on assisting, promoting and strengthening the screen industry in NSW to promote Australia's cultural identity, encourage employment in all aspects of screen production, stimulate investment in the sector, amplify the industry's export potential, encourage innovation and enhance quality in the industry.


Screen NSW consists of collaborative teams including Investment; Destination Attraction; Industry and Audience Development; and Post, Digital & Visual Effects (PDV) & Digital Games.

Through its funding programs and skilled staff, Screen NSW:

- supports the screen production sector to make quality projects that create jobs and grow stable businesses in NSW
- provides advice and information to improve capability in the sector and enable industry practitioners to participate in the global industry
- funds and promotes new forms of screen content and use of technology
- collaborates with industry to create opportunities; and
- facilitates all aspects of filming in NSW to make it the most attractive state for screen production


The Industry and Audience Development Manager manages the delivery and continual improvement of industry, audience, professional development and education initiatives designed to support the vibrancy and viability of the NSW Screen sector.

The role has responsibility for implementing innovative strategies and initiatives to grow the screen industry.


In this role you will:

  • Facilitate strategies, initiatives and programs to engage, promote and enable sustainable and selfreliant screen enterprises and build the capacity of individual screen practitioners
  • Organise and support industry events and communicate with sector/industry stakeholders on relevant issues
  • Contributing to broader project and program development such as supporting the development of career pathway programs and contributing to targeted sector development
  • Build and maintain effective relationships in the sector and with other Government agencies
  • Provide accurate financial reporting, briefs and other communications
  • Manage performance and resources of the team providing guidance, pastoral care and mentorship to direct reports and make a positive contribution to Screen NSW's culture

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Possess sound knowledge of the arts, culture and screen sectors
  • Have significant experience in the formulation and implementation of development strategies, initiatives and programs in a complex, dynamic, multifaceted environment
  • Be flexible, responsive and a great communicator and collaborator
  • Have great administrative skills, be detailed oriented and exceptional project management skills
