Position Information:

Muirfield High School (875 students, including 24% from non-English speaking background) is a comprehensive, coeducational school with highly supportive student welfare structures and respectful relationships.

The school has dynamic and enthusiastic staff members who provide outstanding academic and extracurricular programs. An informed and highly committed community has high expectations for student achievement.

With a broad curriculum, there is a strong proactive focus of collegial professional learning on quality teaching which engages and challenges all students.

The school has an emotional disturbance support unit with three classes with students from 7 to 12. Students in the support unit may be integrated into mainstream classes, depending on individual needs and plans.

Selection Criteria:

Approval to teach Agriculture and willingness to teach and Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8).
Demonstrated capacity to provide engaging and challenging differentiated lessons and programs to cater for student diversity
Proven ability to manage practical work spaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in lessons.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with proven ability to build positive and productive working relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
