We are excited to be recruiting a Mental Health Clinician to become part of a team of professionals that support people living within the community with mental health issues.

The Mental Health clinician is responsible for providing evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers' recovery plans.

The role is also responsible for non-clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in administrative responsibilities as required.

The team is situated at Pennant Hills Community Health Centre and provides assertive follow up in the community.


What you'll be doing

  • The mental health clinician will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for adults experiencing serious and enduring mental health difficulties. The role involves managing a defined caseload with a focus on working with individuals who experience a complex range of needs and difficulties. Acting as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, the mental health clinician will provide assessment and evidence based interventions using a collaborative, recovery approach and will be skilled at positive risk management. Working closely in collaboration with carers and families, and liaison with a wide range of agencies is central to the role.

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or eligibility for membership with AASW.
  • Demonstrated ability of putting people who experience mental health issues first and at the centre of practice and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to support personal recovery and deliver recovery focused, evidence based interventions.
  • Demonstrated ability to uphold the human rights of people experiencing mental health issues and challenging stigma and discrimination; advocating to address the poor and unequal living circumstances that adversely impact on recovery.
  • A High level of written and verbal communication skills promoting a culture and language of hope and optimism.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
