Davidson are pleased to be partnering with the Office of the Premier of Victoria on the search for a Media Manager to provide high-level media advice to senior politicians.

Reporting to the Director Media, the Media Manager will be responsible for delivering effective and strategic media communications to support the achievement of the portfolio's vision and strategy.

The Media Manager will be responsible for high-level strategic planning and issues management.

The Media Manager will also be responsible for managing the workflow, performance and welfare of a small team of Media Advisors, ensuring materials that are produced within the team are of a high quality, consistent with overall messaging, and contribute to the values of the office.

Workloads and time commitments include out-of-hours work and are reflective of the tempo of working in a high-paced, high-pressure environment.

You are influencing the messaging and outcomes that are shaping the community now and into the future.

You will be responsible for maintaining the Media Plan for the portfolio, crisis media management, building strong relationships with journalists and the Press Gallery, and maintaining strong, trusted relationships across the office.

To be successful for this role you will have extensive experience creating, implementing and evaluating effective communications and media campaigns, with an ability to tailor media relations, strategies and activity to suit the intended goals and audiences.

You will have comparable experience in a political, public sector, or aligned environment, with a clear understanding of the processes and political landscape that will impact the way you work.

Your existing media relationships and understanding of the key operating rhythms and stakeholders within the media will hold you in good stead to hit the ground running in this position.

You will know how to turn work around quickly and be accountable and professional.

You will demonstrate a genuine interest in working for a political office and be committed to the values of the Andrews Labor Government.
