Description

An opportunity exists for a Purchasing and Expediting Officer to join a prominent manufacturing Company located in the South East of Sydney.

The Company is an established and significant manufacturer of quality fluid measurement, fluid transfer and lubrication equipment, supplying the Australian and Export markets.


Your role is responsible for ordering new and replenishment stock from local and overseas factories or suppliers, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from factory to warehouse.


Key responsibilities:


  • Running MRP report on daily basis, place orders, and liaise with international freight forwarders.
  • To liaise with suppliers on product requirements, lead time, pricing and update accordingly
  • Liaise with the Product team, Engineering department and management in case of discrepancies on cost, quantities or ETD
  • Conduct midproduction check with suppliers to ensure orders are delivered in full and on time
  • Coordinate the deposit/balance payment of orders
  • Work with the Supply Chain team and warehouse to investigate and resolve receivable inventory discrepancies
  • Liaise with our Freight Forwarders to ensure all required bookings info and shipping documentation are completed in time and provided to the relevant parties
  • Build a positive working relationship with overseas factories, partners and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth operational process for inbound goods
  • Research potential vendors
  • Ensure always in stock and never over stocked.
  • Prepare reports where applicable, and participate in supplier evaluation
  • Correct filing and management of documentation

What you will need to succeed:

  • Min 3 years' experience of working in manufacturing environment
  • Pronto users experience will be preferred
  • Experience with DRP / MRP functionality and a background in forecasting, requirement determination and procurement advantageous
  • Overseas shipping/ freight forwarding experience is a must
  • Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics (e.g. Inventory turns)
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Excel including formula functionality
  • Able to prioritize work during busy periods

Salary:
$60, $70,000.00 per year
