The position available is:

About this Opportunity:

The Payroll & Reporting Manager leads and manages the payroll function. Importantly, they are responsible for ensuring compliance with legal obligations related to payroll and ensuring the accuracy of payroll.


The Payroll & Reporting Manager also works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, People & Culture to develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide business insights, and to support informed decision making across the organisation.


_As the Payroll & Reporting Manager, you will:_

  • Manage a payroll team performing endtoend payroll processing
  • Manage and provide advice to senior leaders, particularly Regional Managers and the Senior Leadership Team, on payroll systems, management of the staff establishment and payroll services
  • Perform quality control audits to ensure accuracy of payroll processing
  • Maintain the most current knowledge of a variety of legislative and industrial instruments such as Awards and Agreements, including employee conditions, employment classifications, workers compensation, and taxation and superannuation laws as they relate to payroll;
  • Develop and maintain a suite of payroll and People & Culture related metrics and reporting dashboards to enable informed decision making across the organisation
  • Manage the Payroll helpdesk service ensuring a timely response to issues logged
  • Lead the identification and implementation of innovative payroll systems and payroll management practices which meet current and future organisational needs

Selection Criteria:
  • Essential:_
  • A minimum of 5years demonstrated experience in managing and leading payroll staff and able to build a successful team that can deliver services that provide a positive customer experience;
  • An ability to develop and maintain a suite of payroll and people and culture related metrics, reports and dashboards;
  • Demonstrated experience in volume payroll services for Enterprise Agreement / Award interpretation and shift environments, preferably organisations of 500+ employees;
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian employment and relevant taxation laws;
  • Significant experience in using payroll systems and excellent Microsoft Excel proficiency;
  • Desirable:_
  • Demonstrated experience with TechnologyOne
