About the Opportunity
The Taxation Officer will:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the ATO, as required.
- Ensure tax returns are completed and lodged in an efficient and timely manner.
- The completion of an agreed caseload of tax returns, PAYG instalments and requests for amendments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop and maintain sound levels of competency with systems such as MYOB, ensuring all data is accurate and complete.
About the Business
The Office of the Public Trustee (Public Trustee) is a business unit of the Attorney-General's Department. The Public Trustee was established in 1881 and is constituted under the provisions of the Public Trustee Act 1995.
The Public Trustee plays an important role in managing the personal, legal and financial affairs of those people in the community who lack the capacity to manage their own affairs.
The Public Trustee also provides eligible South Australians with access to Will making services, powers of attorney preparation and deceased estate and trust administration.
The Public Trustee is located in a prime CBD location, with offices looking out over Victoria Square.With convenient access to public transport and close proximity to the central market, working at the Public Trustee provides an enjoyable work location which supports an active and balanced lifestyle.
Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.
Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
