Currently we have a number of exciting opportunities for dynamic legal professionals to join our Community Legal Education team (ongoing positions available as full time or part time).


As a member of our Community Legal Education team, you will support and assist the general public, community workers and legal practitioners to stay up to date with developments in the law by maintaining a library of reference materials (print and online), producing education resources, and developing and delivering innovative legal education programs.

ASO5 Legal Education Officer


The Legal Education Officer undertakes the development, implementation, and delivery of community legal education programs, with a particular focus on the delivery of education programs to identified priority client groups and organisations that improve their access to justice.

The role will also contribute to special projects for education of disadvantaged groups, their families and service providers in civil, family and criminal law.


ASO5 Legal Education Officer - Programs & Events


The Legal Education Officer - Programs & Events is responsible for the coordination of Legal Services presence at large scale community engagement activities (expos, and community events) and the coordination and delivery of the organisations structured legal education training programs - including Practical Legal Training Program, Summer Clerkship Program and Law for Community Workers webinar series.


In addition the role will support the team's Legal Education Officers to deliver community legal education sessions to increase awareness and understanding of State and Commonwealth laws and the services and programs accessible through Legal Services.


ASO5 Legal Education Officer - Research & Content


The Legal Education Officer - Research and Content is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and the accuracy of key Legal Services reference materials relating to the South Australian and Commonwealth law.

Key reference materials include, but are not limited to, the Law Handbook and the Duty Solicitor Handbook.


Working within a broader Communications and Engagement team, the role will support Legal Services internal and external communications strategy designed to keep all legal service staff, external legal practitioners and the South Australian community informed of important legislative changes as well as assisting the team's Legal Education Officers to develop accurate legal education programs and the production of education materials that are published in print and online (brochures, factsheets, web content, etc).


SALARY RANGE

ASO5:
$83,273- $ 92,614 p.a. (From 14 August 2023 will be $84,522 - $94,003 p.a)


As a not-for-profit organisation, the Legal Services Commission is able to offer its employees attractive salary sacrifice arrangements, including up to $15,900 pre-tax each Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) year for general living expenses.
