Job Summary
The Optus (ATO) Asset & Configuration Manager is responsible for managing all ITIL aligned Service Asset & Configuration Management functions and process for the relevant account under the Managed Network Services contract

The Asset & Configuration Manager will be accountable to the Operations Customer Delivery Manager for Maintaining the accuracy of both the Clients & Various Optus Managed CMDBs by:

  • Identify & define Asset & Configuration Management business requirements with our client and other Service Providers in a collaborative manner and identifying critical success criteria
  • Plan, develop and maintain all policy and procedure documentation and work instructions for Asset & Configuration Management
  • Drive and manage the specific Service Improvement Plans relating to Asset & Configuration Management
  • Represent Optus at Operational Governance, Change and Release Management as well Financial and Contractual meetings providing input into impact assessment evaluations, and ensuring expected outputs deliverables and outcomes are achieved.
  • Proactively plan, conduct and facilitate Asset & Configuration Item Verification and Audit activities including the management and remediation of discrepancies.
  • Work closely with onsite Financial and Contract Management Managers as well as Change & Release Management Stakeholders (including Projects) to identify and implement required CMDB status updates to support new, enhanced or decommissioned services and products.
  • Perform detailed analysis and quality control of all managed CMDB data to ensure accuracy and compliance including weekly, monthly and quarterly Reconciliation and Reporting
  • Work with the Customer Delivery Managers to collate and maintain accurate Asset data for Financial, Warranty, Support and Maintenance contracts
  • Provide control
    mechanisms and input into Procurement activities including Management of spare stock & fleet management


The role requires the successful applicant to have a high level of attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads, timeframes and deadlines while working with the client, other service providers, Optus subcontractors and internal Optus stakeholders.
