- Develop and build the Marine book of business with a focus on Ocean Cargo and Stock Throughput coverages.
- Establish, develop, and expand broker and customer relationships working independently and in conjunction with other BHSI product lines.
- Underwrite, grow the book of business and manage risk for complex accounts.
- Prequalify new business.
- Work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity.
- 7+ years insurance experience.
- Inland underwriting, and appetite experience strongly preferred.
- Strong existing broker relationships or proven ability to develop strong relationships.
- Strong underwriting acumen.
- Experience marketing to specialized brokers.
- Proven client development experience.
- Basic understanding of CAT peril modeling/pricing.
- Strong collaboration and team building skills.
- Must be entrepreneurial and a self-starter.
- Strong communication skills including advanced negotiation, communications, and presentation experience.
- BA/BCOMM degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
