    About the role
  • Provide comprehensive support for individuals and families experiencing housing and homelessness issues
  • Provide a range of supports to assist individuals to achieve their mental health recovery goals
  • Provide outreach and inreach services which requires a willingness to work and travel across North and West Brisbane
  • Provision of community education in the mental health sector regarding housing & homelessness
  • Engage participants and develop trust, culturally appropriate, trauma informed professional relationships
  • Work collaboratively with participants to identify their needs, complete intake & assessment duties and develop recovery plans
  • Work in partnership with service providers and community groups

Role criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health or Community Services and/or
  • Extensive experience working in Community and/or Mental Health Services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the housing and homelessness sector in Brisbane
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with people experiencing severe and complex mental health challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially written communication
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in computer skills, particularly word processing skills and data management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute as part of a team to provide a safe, equitable and rewarding workplace

Core requirements

  • National criminal Record check disclosable outcomes considered
  • Open Queensland Drivers Licence

About the Recovery and Discovery Centre


The Recovery and Discovery Centre is a Mental Health Hub that is designed to provide integrated, multi-disciplinary supports for people who live with severe and complex mental health issues that are having significant impact on daily life and wellbeing.

The Recovery and Discovery Centre is funded through the Brisbane North PHN and Communify have partnered with a number of different organisations to deliver three key funding streams.

In conjunction with Toowong Private Hospital, Brisbane Youth Service and Eating Disorders Qld, The Recovery and Discovery Centre provides individual and group Psychosocial Support (including peer support), Clinical Care Coordination (mental health nursing) and Individual and Group Psychological Therapies.

With a framework based on the Recovery Model, the support that is provided is strengths-based, client-centred and trauma-informed.
