The Role


Something For Jess Cafe and Catering is looking for an energetic, experienced and motivated front of house manager to join our creative and dynamic team.

We pride ourselves on our reputation of excellent customer service and expect our Assistant Manager to uphold this ethos.


As the Manager of the cafe, you will have well developed communication skills and be able to assist in all aspects of the daily operations of the cafe.

Our team is passionate about offering great service and excellent food, as well as having a great time together doing so


Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Manager:

  • Maintaining restaurant presentation and cleanliness as well as open and close procedures.
  • Ensuring all team members are upholding our customer service expectations at all times.
  • Engaging with customers and handling feedback in a professional manner.
  • Manage labour costs by effective staff rostering.
  • Front of house stock ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels in response to sales volumes.
  • Ensuring that wages, COGS and general costs are in line with the owner's expectations at all times in response to KPI's and set parameters.
  • Responsible for upholding and adhering to set budgets.
  • Implementing training and operating procedures when reviewing and launching new menu items.
  • Ordering stock and monitoring and liaising with suppliers.
  • Communicating with the Cafe owner on a regular and timely basis.
  • Additional tasks and projects as required by Owner.

Skills and experience required:


  • 2 or more years' experience is required.
  • Skilled and experienced Barista
  • Able to provide objective feedback on staff performance to the owner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be committed, selfmotivated and reliable.
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to provide ideas and perspectives to enhance the operations of the cafe.
  • Ability to implement processes and procedures that support the inclusion of new menu items.
  • Maintain optimal food safety procedures and WHS protocols.
  • Contribute to marketing ideation and promote any marketing incentives.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm when busy or under pressure.
  • Be a person who is not afraid of exercising initiative.
  • An eye for detail and strong organizational skills
  • Nurture friendly relationships with customers to increase loyalty and boost our reputation.
  • Fluency in English.

Salary:
Competitive hourly rates will be offered based on your experience and availability.


Schedule:


  • Weekend availability required.
