Where you'll be working

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region.

What you'll be doing


The Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager (N/MUM) is responsible for the efficient management of nursing staff and providing patient care services under their delegation in the Ward/Unit.

The N/MUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, ward management and leadership of the nursing and midwifery profession to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

Essential Criteria:


Registration:
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse - Division
1)


Selection Criteria:


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or speciality, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive clinical experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.
  • Recent relevant clinical experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
  • Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills
