**The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) Program is responsible for the development and support of the Australian Navy and Army Joint Helicopter School, featuring brand new aircraft and a suite of synthetic training devices.


We are now recruiting for an Equipment Maintenance Specialist, to help us deliver this premier Australian Defence Force training capability.


Role is based in Nowra - Shoalhaven region, known for an abundance of beautiful landscapes, recreational activities and business services, with a family friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and only 2 1⁄2 hours' drive to Sydney.


Responsibilities

  • Manage HATS Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and Tooling.
  • Maintain all Support and Test Equipment IAW the item maintenance policy.
  • Carry out Tool box auditing.
  • Perform maintenance on HATS GSE equipment.
  • Maintain and manage component and replacement part inventories.
  • Maintain a register of the GSE and STE equipment

Experience / Qualifications

  • Have an aviation or mechanical trade's background.


  • Strong computer skills

  • Microsoft (Excel, access and word),
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyse, inspect, disassemble, rebuild, modify and test factory machinery and equipment as necessary using knowledge in areas such as mechanics, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Be able to use and interpret advanced blueprints and schematics to maintain and repair equipment. Respond to requests for equipment repair.
  • Have knowledge of set up, maintenance, trouble shooting and repair of GSE.
  • Have a comprehensive ability to use various hand, power driven and specialty tools.
  • Be able to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications;
  • Demonstrated success in the development of effective working relationships within a complex organisational structure to meet team, business unit and organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work to tight timeframes with limited supervision; and
  • Have strong conceptual and analytical skills
