The Opportunity:
The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 6 Manager Training Development and Manager Training Delivery within Security Operations Branch.
The Branch works with many different Australian Parliament House (APH) stakeholders, including the Australian Federal Police (AFP), the Department of the House of Representatives, the Department of the Senate, the Ministerial Wing Support, and other entities within the Parliamentary precincts.
Manager Training Development:
The Manager of Training Development is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of security training curriculum focused at the Parliamentary Security Service foundation skills.
In support of the broader Training Team the Manager of Training Development will provide, contemporary training development through modern design methodologies, and support Operational Safety Instructors through the provision of training governance.
Manager Training Delivery:
This role leads a team of capability trainers to achieve Security Operations Branch outcomes. In this role you will deliver security focused training programs for the Parliamentary Security Services (PSS).
You will manage a small team of training staff who are responsible for developing, reviewing and evaluating the content and certification of training programs for the Branch.
Who we are looking for:
- Have demonstrated experience in the design, development, and facilitation of training driven initiatives within an adult learning environment.
- Experience in transforming customer focused feedback into workable training solutions.
- Proven knowledge of contemporary curriculum design, development, and facilitation methodologies.
- A proven record in managing a small team, personnel matters, technical skills, and collective growth.
- Established research and analysis skills.

Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 6 classification.
The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design, develop, and facilitate curriculum initiatives that contribute to business improvement strategies and change workplace practices.
- Implement changes based on feedback to maintain or improve customer service standards.
- Ensure quality outputs for the team including the development of specialist, professional and/or technical expertise. Conduct regular quality assurance of work area processes and manage identified risks.
- Perform independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant curriculum development activities and/or project milestones.
- Facilitate training on security and customer service focused programs.
- Maintain professional knowledge and continue to develop knowledge and expertise in relation to professional skills and professional regulatory requirements.
