Closing Date: 02/04/2023- Job Type: Contract- Location: Melbourne - Northern Region- Job Category: AdministrationCare Finder is an initiative of the Australian Government in response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety.

A key role of the Care Finder program is to engage with older people who are reluctant or unable to engage with the My Aged Care (MAC) process to have their needs assessed and services deployed.


  • Grade
  • Up to 0.6 EFT (3 days a week)
  • Flexibility in days of work in accordance with community engagement events

About the Role:


The purpose of the Care Finder Engagement Officer position is to provide information and support to clients to ensure that they are sufficiently informed and empowered to make their own choices regarding relevant support services.

The main responsibilities include initial engagement, information provision, and referral to our Care Finder staff to support clients to navigate and engage with the MAC process and Home Care Package program.

About you:


We are looking for someone who has:

  • Basic knowledge of Aged Care Services, particularly in-home and community support to aged clients in particular clients from hardly reached cohorts
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to adapt communication to a wide variety of clients and stakeholders
  • Experience in presenting information to groups of people and individuals
  • Experience in tailoring the provision of information to suit different audiences
  • Experience working with diverse communities and/or hardly reached communities in Whittlesea, Mitchell or in surrounding Local Government Areas
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships that result in meaningful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot potential and existing risks
  • Ability to work independently in the community and respond to a changing work environment
  • Effective time management skills to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources
You will be motivated to make a positive difference to the residents and their families.

Achieving ultimate client satisfaction and empowering the client to take control and action over their health care is fundamental in this project.

You will achieve this by adhering to the Client Directed Care (CDC) guidelines and the DPV Health Excellent Care framework that focuses on wellness and reablement of aging residents.
