The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals.

The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a full time, fixed term (until July 2024) role based in our Melbourne office working a hybrid arrangement.

About the Role


The Contract Management Lead is responsible for providing strong commercial, contractual and financial management expertise, combined with strong operational knowledge, to ensure Ahpra optimises value for money from contracts with vendors/third parties and that these contracts remain aligned to business needs.


The role is responsible for working closely with procurement peers to standardise and improve the quality of Ahpra's end-to-end procurement service offering, from sourcing through to contract management, with strong governance at the forefront.


In this role you will:


  • Provide commercial support with service insights to advise, manage and negotiate new or renewed contracts as appropriate working within Ahpra's wider procurement framework
  • Work with Procurement team to ensure the procurement function leads and implements an endto end centreled operating model, to best support key stakeholders in effective contract management
  • Manage contracts with professional service providers, to ensure performance is measured and reported to Ahpra management.
  • Support Ahpra's functions with the operational relationship with vendors.
  • Tertiary qualification in Law or Contract Management would be highly desirable
  • Recent experience in contract management, contract negotiation and contract interpretation skills
  • Exceptional customer service focus, ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound understanding of corporate regulatory systems and governance
  • Sound understanding of project management methodology
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
