About the role:

The Engineering Manager has ultimate responsibility for all aspects of Engineering within the site.

As an active member of the Site Leadership Team, the Engineering Manager works with the Operations, Quality, Sales and Business Development functions to develop and execute strategies to maximize business success.

You will develop and execute engineering projects, inclusive of research and development programs to meet the needs of the site by:

  • Running of the engineering department including budget development and management, personnel selection/development/performance management, proposal and program oversight, and the management of improvement initiatives and engineering processes.
  • Manage product and project delivery and cost performance from a technical perspective.
  • Resolved product quality issues related to the design of products.
  • Responsibility for pre
- and post-sale customer technical support. Develop strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and leaders in the industry. Develop and support strategies for technical training, product repair, service kits, recommended spares etc.

  • Forecast short
- and long
- range capital requirements of current and future engineering products, aligned to the site's overall strategic plan. This includes the development, control, and maintenance of capital and expense budgets.

  • Conduct regular liaison with Moog engineering sites to maintain best practice and activity alignment.
  • Build relationships with key tertiary institutions to support development activity and recruiting.

About you:


  • You will have a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Control Systems/Mechatronics).
  • Masters of Engineering (desirable).
  • 10 years of relevant technical experience.
  • 5+ years proven managerial and/or supervisory experience.
  • Previously held Defence Security Clearance (desired).
  • Strategic Vision.
  • Strong motivation and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership ability and qualities.
  • Comfortable and adept at strategic negotiations and conflict resolution.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

South East Suburbs of Melbourne


Travel:
Occasional interstate/overseas travel required.
