Mechanical Fitter Job Description - Permanent role
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine the best way to proceed with a mechanical installation.
- Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, such as pumps, valves, engines, and other mechanical equipment.
- Verify equipment and system operations by conducting tests and inspections.
- Perform repairs and replacements as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Highly motivated and a selfstarter.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$ $55.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Penalty rates
Experience:
- Fitter: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- White Card (required)
