About the Role
As Head of Department - Mathematics, you will have responsibility for, but not limited to, the implementation of the school's explicit improvement agenda that includes:

  • Thinking strategically and innovatively in the approach to curriculum, pedagogy and staff professional growth to ensure continuous improvement of the school's educational programs.
  • Leading the implementation of the Australian Curriculum Version 9 Mathematics and the QCAA Senior Mathematics Curricular.
  • Supporting the Learning progression for all students within a framework of equity and excellence.
  • Consistent approach to pedagogy to reduce variance of impacts.
  • Strengthening high performance in senior outcomes.
  • Strengthen staff and student wellbeing.
  • Playing a lead role in the development, implementation and ongoing review of the school's explicit improvement agenda.
  • Building staff capability through a problem of practice approach to improvement, collaborative empowerment through a faculty based professional learning teams, coaching and mentoring.
  • Embedding of the Mount Gravatt High Approach to Pedagogy.
  • Implementing the Mount Gravatt High Curriculum Planning Process.
