Reporting to the Director of Early Childhood Infrastructure Planning - State Projects, the Manager, Kindergartens on School Sites will work closely and collaboratively as part of a team responsible delivering kindergarten infrastructure on government school sites to support the successful implementation of Three-year-old Kindergarten and Pre-Prep reforms.

The immediate focus of the role encompasses the key elements of the Government's commitments for the expansion of Three-year-old Kindergarten, as well as preparing for Pre-Prep with particular focus on the kindergartens on school sites program and modular kindergartens.

For future infrastructure investment decisions, the Department will develop a new infrastructure procurement process for the reform that would complement the existing Building Blocks Program.

The scope of responsibilities assigned to this leadership role includes:

Providing strategic direction, operational leadership and guidance to support the effective implementation of the assigned program of work.
Leading the development of an infrastructure delivery program, delivered directly by VSBA and through external organisations.
Consulting, advising and negotiating with senior government stakeholders in relation to the development, implementation and delivery of a diverse range of early childhood education programs.
Communicating with key internal/external stakeholders on the development of new program initiatives/strategies.
Ensuring consistency of service delivery across regions and establishing cost effective policies, management control systems and financial practices as they relate to early childhood infrastructure.

This role encompasses the key elements of the Government's commitments for the expansion of Three-year-old kindergarten and delivery of Pre-Prep, including working with the sector through co-contribution grants, progressing the co-location of kindergartens on school sites and progressing innovative delivery options such as modular kindergartens.

This role will also feed into the development of a long-term infrastructure investment strategy to ensure delivery of the ten-year reform agenda.
