Immediate start
Fulltime hours, Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday (4 hours)

About the role:

Our client is a contract testing laboratory based in the western suburbs of Sydney. They are seeking a Microbiologist / Laboratory Technician to work in the Microbiology department.

You duties will include:

Performing Microbiological tests (quantitative and/or qualitative) of pharmaceutical products, complimentary medicines, water & environmental samples, probiotic enumerations, biological indictators, growth promotion tests of microbiological culture media, bioburden of medical devices and medical device validations, preservative efficacy tests (PET)
Preparing media and reagents (agars, broths, diluents, dry goods and reagents) for microbial testing.
Reading and/or calculating results, including validations.
Culture collection maintenance.
Data entry of results into eLIMS.
Routinely clean and maintain the autoclaves and other section equipment.
Housekeeping, including daily laboratory cleaning and maintenance
Standing for long periods of time.

The position is a full-time ongoing casual position working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. There is also a requirement to work every second Saturday for a 4 hours shift (shift rates apply).

This position may go permanent for the right person. Immediate start.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

Minimum of Certificate IV in Laboratory Technology
Recent Bachelor of Science
Microbiology graduates are encouraged to apply

Essential

Full vaccinations (including COVID vaccination)
Good communication skills essential as you will have to liaise with different departments
Ability to multitask is essential as you will be working in a busy commercial laboratory environment.
