Summary:


The Structured Lending team within our Commodities and Global Markets business in Sydney, is currently hiring several analysts/associates to join a growing team with an active pipeline of debt investment transactions across a variety of industries in Australia and New Zealand with ambitions to grow internationally.

The team specialises in complex asset-secured deals and has specialities in bespoke structured lending and credit solutions including bank credit, receivables finance, private market securitisations and working capital and inventory financing solutions.

The team also have an internal distribution capability. Target industries include energy, utilities, transport, logistics, sustainability and telecommunications. The team uses Macquarie's balance sheet to invest in bespoke transactions that are originated and structured and managed in-house.

As a high-performing and intellectually-curious structuring, and execution analyst you will be joining a team that balances a drive for growth with diligent and exacting transactional credit and investment analysis and research.

This opportunity offers you ownership of important workstreams.

You will be involved in all aspects of the transaction life-cycle, including concept development, opportunity origination, deal structuring and execution and transaction management.

Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Supporting the delivery of commercial and transactional outcomes
  • Working independently within a supportive team culture and framework to deliver consistent and highquality analysis
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and internal stakeholders; and
  • Solving complex financing problems and analysing principal investment opportunities.
You will have a degree in finance, law, STEM, actuarial studies, commerce or similar with high academic achievement. You will be a top-ranked performer in your current role with the following experience

  • At least 1+ years of relevant experience in financial services, advisory/consulting or private equity, ideally with relevant acquisition, lending and/or structuring transactional origination/execution experience
  • Strong financial literacy including ability to interpret financial statements and forecasts, and analyse and assess credit risk
  • Strong financial modelling skills in Excel
  • Some understanding of financial products particularly structured debt
  • Experience in clientfacing delivery of transactions, projects, and business development
  • Experience working on new product development and new markets in a clientfocused setting; and
  • Proven track record in executing transactions
