About the role

The purpose of this position is to deliver high level clinical mental health services in the areas of assessment, intervention, treatment planning and evaluation to children and young people in the care of the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women with extreme and complex therapeutic and behaviour support needs; and to deliver training and education, supervision and research within the Evolve Therapeutic Support Service.

About you

  • Demonstrate high level clinical knowledge in childhood trauma, attachment theory, child development, collaborative practice and systemic theory, in order to provide specialised education programs and specialist mental health consultation to key stakeholders including professionals within internal and external government, nongovernment and private agencies, carer providers and families involved with children and young people in the care of the Child Safety Services.
  • Coordinate and direct an interagency care plan using a developmentally informed collaborative model of care to address the therapeutic and behaviour support needs of the child or young person which identifies the roles and responsibilities of government, nongovernment and private sector service providers as appropriate.
  • Maintain the currency and high quality of professional practice knowledge, skills and expertise by actively contributing to and participating in professional development activities.
  • Provide high levels of initiative and responsibility in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that incorporate consumer and carer participation, contributing to a statewide evidencebased model of service delivery.

Mandatory Requirements:


  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/1
  • Vaccinated against COVID19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
