The Opportunity:
Division of Diagnostics and Outpatient Services is seeking an experienced and dynamic leader for an 18-month position as Operations Manager, Outpatient Services, to support and lead the operational functions of outpatient services across Northern Health.
The position reports to the Director of Outpatient Services, Divisional Director of Diagnostics and Outpatient Services under the executive structure of the Chief Medical Officer, and will hold responsibility for various portfolios and relevant staff within those portfolios which includes:
- Nursing, Administration, Transformation Team and Systems Administration
- Quality and Safety, including accreditation readiness
- Informatics, including performance reporting
- Capital and service planning
- Funding and grants
- Change Management
- DHHS policy compliance: e.g. Outpatient access policy and MBS policy and funding guidelines
- Monitoring of DHHS KPI's
The role will be actively involved in other operational projects and initiatives as delegated by the Director Outpatient Services, Divisional Director of Diagnostics and Outpatient Services or the Chief Medical Officer.
Outpatient Services operates across multiple NH campus and it is a requirement of this role to travel to all sites.
This leadership role requires a whole of health service view to support Northern Health in the development of innovative and contemporary workforce and service delivery models.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience and demonstrated high level of achievement at a senior management level in the public health sector
- Highly developed leadership style that will provide a clear vision to the organisation
- Proven effective relationship management, team development and change management skills
- Highly developed consultation, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution skills
- Extensive knowledge of the Victorian public health system.
- A comprehensive knowledge of VINAH reporting and compliance
- Understanding of outpatient policy and funding; MBS and NWAU (Tier 2 Codes)
- Excellent oral/presentation and written communication skills
- Demonstrated business acumen and financial management competence
- Policy formulation skills
- Conceptual, innovative approach to strategic planning and change implementation
- Post graduate qualification in health services management, business or a related field or progress towards the same
