The Role

Black Star Pastry is thriving and we're looking for a Kitchen Hand/Prep to join our team in our St Kilda Production Kitchen, located in the iconic Prince of Wales precinct.

This is a casual role for someone to assist our Chefs as an all-rounder with cleaning and preparation, and suited to either experienced Kitchen Hands or those looking for an opportunity to experience a professional kitchen environment.

We offer reliable day time hours, stable employment and the rare opportunity to achieve work/life balance in a hospitality role.

Great casual rates - $27.46 (Mon-Fri) and $32.96 (Weekends).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Clean and wash dishes ensuring the work area is kept clean and sanitary in accordance with BSP standards.
Clean and restock areas daily, including monitoring and rotating stock levels in the dry store.
Clean miscellaneous kitchen machinery/equipment periodically.
Assist with cutting and preparation of ingredients and garnishes
At the end of each shift, clean down all relevant areas and keep the general kitchen area in a clean and tidy state.

About You

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is helpful but not essential.
Able to build effective and constructive relationships a true team player
Ability to communicate professionally.
Exceptional organisational skills.
Ability to adapt and be flexible to changing business demands.
