About the Opportunity


SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health and safety, public safety and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia.

As a regulator, Investigators and Inspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safety standards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected.

The Team Leader Mining will be responsible for ensuring:

  • Specialist inspectorial service delivery and advice to our mining, quarrying, mineral exploration and the public sector.
  • Regulatory compliance, enforcement and prevention initiatives strategically targeted at existing, emerging and closure mines proportionate to the level of risk and technical complexity.
  • Workplace compliance inspection and WHS audits at mining operations.
  • Assist field inspectorial staff and investigators in the investigation of incidents involving complex mining and mineral processing systems, provide highlevel written advice, reports and correspondence.
  • The performance and development of individuals within the team and the management of the daily operational activities of team members to ensure team KPIs are achieved.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested.

Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.

Specialist or high level skills, knowledge or experience may be required dependent on location of the position

Must hold a current Australian issued driver's licence (equivalent to minimum class C)

Gazettal as an inspector under relevant legislation administered by this Department is a

requirement

Subject to completion of a satisfactory ASIO (politically motivated violence) security check

The Inspector will be required to take part in the on-call roster

Some out of hours work may be required. Intrastate and interstate travel may be required

A Corporate wardrobe is supplied and must be worn in line with SafeWork SA Dress and Personal Protection Policy.
