We are looking for 2 permanent Technical Officers to join the Technical and Regulation team.
Position overview
The VBA has 2 exciting permanent full time opportunities within the building stream of the Technical and Regulation Team.
The Technical Officer Building is responsible for providing support in delivering technical and regulatory information and advice to a range of internal and external stakeholders to support industry compliance with current building legislation, regulations and codes.
This position also assists with assessment, issuing occupancy permits for prescribed temporary structures and places of public entertainment and development, reviews and delivery of technical and education materials and seminars.
Who we are looking for;
- Knowledge of the building regulatory framework including the National Construction Code, Building Regulations, the Building Act and other relevant legislation
- Ability to problem solving skills including the ability to use conceptual and analytical skills to analyse issues, liaise with stakeholders, draw conclusions and evaluate effectiveness.
- Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Are selfmotivated and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
