Full Time position with attractive salary (above award rate), based in Sunshine Hospital

Your new team:

***- The Sunshine Hospital Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre (SHMH&WC) is a new adult acute mental health precinct consisting of 52 new mental health beds (2 x 26 bed units) and Sunshine Adult Acute Psychiatric Unit (SAAPU) which is the existing 29 bed acute mental health unit. The new units are currently under construction and are due to become operational from July 2023. This project is referred to as the Pathway to 144 mental health beds (P144 project) and is part of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System (RCVMHS).- The Program Manager will initially join the project team to support the development, recruitment, commissioning and operationalisation of the new mental health units. The Program Manager will transition into operational management of one of the 26 bed units leading into the opening of the new facility.- This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in developing and establishing an acute mental health unit with a new and innovative model of care.***
Your new role:
  • Join the P144 project team and play a pivotal role in the development of a new and innovative acute mental health inpatient unit.
  • Transition into the management of the day to day operational and clinical workflow within the inpatient unit once open
  • Use your knowledge, experience and expertise to support the establishment and operations of the unit
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of this program and participate in service development activities
  • Coordinate and deliver new quality initiatives in collaboration with consumers and carers
  • Collaborate with other Managers across the organisation in both daily operations and service development across the organisation

About you:


  • Proven ability to initiate, problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes
  • Highly developed interpersonal sklills with an ability to clearly communicate with staff, consumers, carers and other stakeholders
  • Extensive experience in leadership roles
  • Strong organisational and managerial skills
  • Capacity to determine workload priorities and be adaptive to change
