    Description

    Indirect Tax Technical Specialist

    Reporting to the Head of Indirect Tax, this role is crucial for the organization as it serves as a key position for future leadership succession. We are seeking an adept Indirect Tax professional specializing in GST or Excise to join this prominent market leader and household brand. In this role, you will collaborate with tax leads to enrich and safeguard value by offering expert advice on indirect tax, managing the Group's tax risks, and ensuring favorable commercial and financial outcomes to uphold the Group's long-term sustainability.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Deliver strategic commercial Indirect Tax advice to boost business performance
    • Ensure timely and quality compliance with all Indirect tax aspects through efficient planning and execution
    • Prepare accurate and high-quality reports for stakeholders
    • Offer sound financial and operational risk management advice
    • Identify and address risks and opportunities effectively
    • Provide expert advice on Projects and M&A activity
    • Monitor Indirect tax reform implications and drive necessary changes
    • Develop an Indirect tax strategy consistent with business values
    • Manage all indirect tax reviews and audits
    • Adhere to financial policies and risk management frameworks
    • Drive continuous improvement through process simplification and automation
    • Promote a high growth culture
    • Prioritize safety and uphold Lion's safety culture
    • Demonstrate the business' Leadership Principles consistently
    • Engage in the Business' Achievement Cycle

    Key Skills & Attributes of the successful candidate:

    Relevant tertiary degree

    Professional Qualification/Registration (e.g. CA/CPA, Masters of Tax or equivalent)

    Understanding of finance and business operations

    5+ years experience in Indirect Tax (preferably GST or Customs) in Big 4, mid-tier accounting firm or large corporate environment

    Proficient in data analysis for decision-making

    Proven ability in relationship building and influencing stakeholders
