An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced nursing leader looking to advance their career at a private hospital in Perth.


ABOUT THE ROLE


As the ADON, you will work alongside the Hospital Executive and senior leadership team to provide effective leadership and management of surgical, medical, rehab, CCU, ICU and day oncology wards.

This is a pivotal role within the leadership team which complements the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital.

As a Senior member of the Nursing Leadership Team, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursing Division with a focus on high quality and safety service provision, effective leadership of the workforce and operational efficiency through:

  • Development of the strategic direction and associated planning;
  • Ongoing operational performance and innovation;
  • Quality Implementation and management within the perioperative stream.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational direction for the Services to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care;
  • You will be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels;
  • Participate in service initiatives that promote growth, help identify clinical areas for expansion and represent the hospital at external clinical forums;
  • Work as part of the health care team, adhere to hospital policies and procedures and key performance indicators; chair and participate in working parties or committees (as required); demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement through National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards (NSQHS), Workplace Health and Safety and achievement of hospital accreditation;
  • Take an active role in the management of WHS issues of the service to ensure a safe work environment and safe practice for staff;
  • Provide effective leadership to meet the hospital's objectives, ensuring a costeffective nursing service that provides exceptional, evidencebased patient care.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Registration with AHPRA;
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an acute hospital setting;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • A strong customer focus;
  • Financial and human resource management skills;
  • Strong motivation and ability to manage change;
  • Able to influence nursing and hospital practice to achieve excellent clinical outcomes
  • Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative nursing is preferred;
  • A broad understanding of private health care and funding models is desirable;
  • A tertiary qualification in Management or Business is highly desirable.

The hospital is one of Australia's largest private providers of cardiac services, with a significant structural heart programme supported by cutting-edge technology in the Hybrid Theatre.

The core surgical specialities include Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Bariatric surgery, Vascular, General surgery, Breast surgery and Plastics. The hospital has three Cardiac Catheter Labs and 10 operating theatres.
