Services Australia is seeking a Cyber Risk Analyst that will work with our Integrated Cyber Risk Management section to undertake cyber risk assessments of key technology components and systems
Primary Technologies:
Various however the primary focus will be Firewall and Gateway, M365, Linux, Network
The Cyber Risk Analyst's Key Tasks/Duties may include some or all of the following:
- Undertake security risk assessments on key technology components and identify areas for remediation and appropriate remediation controls.
- Work with the existing team members to analyse the cyber risks identified within the broader risk and controls environment to inform an assessment of the risk exposure.
- Undertake the categorisation and prioritisation of cyber risks (and associated remediation actions) identified.
- Document risk assessments within Service Australia templates.
- Facilitate discussions with system owners and technical leads around the risks identified and the appropriate remediation's.
Essential Criteria
- Experience analysing risks associated with external perimeter technologies (firewall and gateway services specifically) of complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security principles, frameworks, and cyber security risk assessment methodologies, for example, ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management aligned approaches.
- Experience facilitating risk management discussions across technical and business
Desirable Criteria
- Experience undertaking cyber risk analysis at large Government departments on highly complex technology environments.
- Experience working with system owners and business stakeholders to develop appropriate remediation plans that take into account the underlying business functions and requirements.
- Experience undertaking comprehensive cyber risk assessments across multiple technologies and environments; including identifying and documenting risks, proposal of controls and treatments, and articulation of residual risk.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
