About the role:


We have an exciting role available for a Merchandise Planner to join our Distributed Brands team Reporting to the Head of Planning the Merchandise Planner will be responsible for maximising business profitability through effective management of merchandise through its lifecycle.

This opportunity is focused on data and analytics in the achievement of budgeted sales, gross profit and inventory productivity measures.

Your key responsibilities will include:


  • Planning and development of Merchandise strategies in conjunction with the Buyer
  • OTB management
  • Maximising sales, profit, and return on inventory
  • Management of promotional and markdown material
  • Lead and manage the forecast review process in collaboration with the buying team to identify opportunities and risks and put plans in place to deliver budget outcomes
  • Monthly tracking of KPI's to compare with budget, forecast and prior year
  • Manage the allocation and replenishment of product to maximise sales and deliver profitable outcomes
  • Develop framework to ensure the buy reflects strategic intent and delivery of budget expectations
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to develop their skills whilst delivering improved inventory outcomes
  • Lead the broader business team to deliver improved financial outcomes

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage an OTB
  • Forecasting ability
  • Ability to understand data and analytics and make recommendations as a result
  • Proven ability to drive inventory productivity improvements
  • Ability to take a proactive approach and think strategically
  • Advanced excel skills with the ability to lead excel based projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Previous Experience in both Planner roles and Inventory Management roles
