What you'll be doing


The Administration Officer - Junior Medical will provide administration, rostering, payroll and other workforce support services to Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) and their managers at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.

The role contributes to ensuring a high quality workforce administrative and support customer service in support of staff in a professional and timely manner.

This temporary part time role is part of the Junior Medical Unit at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, working within the broader People and Culture Directorate in support of the Network's purpose of helping young people live their healthiest lives.


This position is for 19 hours per week (0.5FTE) for up to 12 months, with the possibility of up to 25 hours per week.


Selection Criteria

  • Previous administration experience working for a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus with a responsive approach to enquiries whilst understanding the need to maintain confidentiality.
  • Sound communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to establish positive working relationships with staff at all levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work in a high volume and demanding environment with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to carry out a variety of functions which may require the use of judgement within the broad scope of the role.
  • Ability to work in a high volume and demanding data inputting environment with the capacity to manage routine tasks with a high level of accuracy whilst meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficient data inputting and IT skills with experience using MS Office programs, HR and other related database systems such as HealthRoster.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
