Sales Specialist, Index & Analytics


The Business Need

The Index and Analytics (I&A) business within the London Stock Exchange Group features industry leading brands and products such as the FTSE global equity indexes and Russell US market indexes and FTSE Fixed Income indexes as well as alternatives asset class indexes in Real Estate and Infrastructure.

We develop and market industry defining offerings with the likes of ICB and SEDOL, ESG, Green Revenue Data and other Sustainable investment tools.

FTSE Russell boast the largest asset tracking our indexes with over 15T USD of AUM and the largest index provider globally by AUM.

This role is to develop new business with buy side and sell side client segment in Pacific.


Role Purpose


Drives the sales of co-developed solutions to new targeted accounts in Pacific, with responsibility for the implementation and development of targeted sales campaigns resulting in new sales and revenue streams.

Having the knowledge of their prospects' business, pressures and opportunities, bringing together the business expert knowledge of market requirements and the latest developments in area of specialism(s).

Building business via promotion, education, and selling of FTSE Russell indices with existing and Greenfield site clients (clients including Asset managers, Banks, product issuers, etc).


Role Responsibilities

  • Leads the acquisition of new business and holds responsibility for I&A in Pacific Sales Team
  • Acts as a go to expert on market requirements and the evolving technical architecture landscape (applies tech sales)
  • Brings awareness of client requirements back to the business to shape gotomarket plans and existing / new product development, develops and maintains internal and external relationships with key decision makers
  • Develops and maintains internal and external relationships with key decision makers or potential influencers including senior level executives
  • Introduces senior Data & Analytics (D&A) representatives to strategically important accounts at an appropriate time
  • Executes a long sales cycle (quarters) where each sale is expected to lead to a long term account relationship
  • Spends significant time on opportunity development activities and transitioning relationship activities to core teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 12 years of experience in sales / new business development within the financial services industry
  • Strong understanding of investment management process and ecosystem (Consultant, buy side, custodian etc) and across asset classes in the global financial markets (equity, fixed income, alternatives)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Solutionsbased selling experience
  • Degree or equivalent
  • Extensive experience of sales / new business development within the financial services industry.
