(Level A) $95,241 to $102,040 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
(Level B) $107,276 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
Fixed term position for up to 2 years.
This is a fantastic opportunity be part of the Defence Trailblazer for Concept to Sovereign Capability - a collaborative partnership between the University of Adelaide and UNSW. This opportunity is also advertised by UNSW.
Our team is seeking a collaborative Postdoctoral Researcher (Level A/B) to work on a project within Defence Trailblazer - "Resilient Platform Interfaces" for an initial period of up to two years.
- Interfacing a platform via vehicle OBD-II port and CAN bus interface on a communications router
- Demonstrate robust defenceindepth (multilayer) OT/IT cybersecurity for traffic originating from the OT to IT and vice versa.
This cyber resilience goal is consistent with the doctrine of maintaining freedom of action and manoeuvre in the cyber domain.
To be successful at Level A you will need:
- Demonstrated ability in conducting and publishing high quality research on one or more of the topics related to the project topics
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with empirical research in IoT security;
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional and collegial manner, and to build rapport with all levels of academic and professional staff within a diverse and inclusive work environment
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations
To be successful at Level B you will also need:
- Postdoctoral research experience in a leading university, publicly-funded research organisation or industry laboratory
Desirable experience:
- Experience with CAN bus and its security issues and the ability to generate new offensive security ideas on CAN systems and develop proof of concept of these ideas
- Experience with working with IoT hardware, especially CISCO devices
Qualifications at Level A:
- To have or about to complete a PhD in computer science or related fields such as electrical and electronic engineering, mathematics or physics
Qualifications at Level B:
- A PhD in computer science or related fields such as electrical and electronic engineering, mathematics or physics
