The role
We seek a mid-level UX/UI Designer to join our friendly, dynamic and accomplished team.

You will work within an agile team environment, collaborating with our Product team (Product Manager, Product Analyst, Tech Lead, Software Engineers, Architect, QA) to bring the product vision to life through intuitive workflows that address our users' needs and achieve product-market fit.

Skills and Experience

Required skills:
what you will do day-to-day

  • Conduct feature discovery and user research to understand user requirements

This includes:

  • Identifying & executing appropriate user research methods.
  • Eliciting & documenting user requirements.
  • Sharing findings across our teams.
  • Develop product designs and documentation

This includes:

  • Identifying & solving user and design problems.
  • Working closely with our engineers to ensure technical feasibility in your designs.
  • Creating wireframes and prototypes to validate and test solution options.
  • Conducting user testing, documenting findings & iterating designs based on feedback.
  • Creating hifi UI designs ready for implementation.
  • Champion and iterate BC's design practices

This includes:

  • Ensuring a usercentred design approach is taken across the endtoend design process.
  • Helping the wider organisation to understand Design best practices (e.g. design systems, mobile responsiveness, accessibility).
  • Driving the maintenance and evolution of our design system, notably design patterns and branding.
  • Collaborate with the Product team.

This includes working with our:

  • Product Manager to understand the product vision and priorities.
  • Product Analyst to conduct requirements gathering to form a solid understand of our users' needs, pain points and areas of opportunity.
  • Technical team members (Tech Lead, Software Engineers, Architect, QA) to ensure your designs are feasible and wellunderstood, and conduct UI shoulderchecks as implementation is underway.
  • Stakeholder Development team (who represent our Sales and Support functions) to tap into their user insights from their daily customer interactions.

The following experience will be essential:

  • Expertise in standard UX/UI software. We currently use Sketch, InVision and Zeplin. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus.
  • Experience in establishing or working within a design system to ensure consistency and continual improvement across our products.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders (real users, internal team members) to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet user needs and product vision.
  • Experience in using UX design best practices, including user research, user journey mapping, wireframing/prototyping, usability testing, pattern libraries, accessibility, mobilefirst and responsive design.
  • Ability to work effectively in an agile setting and be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with the team.
  • Be passionate about solving user pain points through great design
