    About the role
  • We are seeking a dynamic medical scientist to lead a team at our brand new stateoftheart laboratory in Geelong.
iYour key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Supervise a small laboratory with two other medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank)
  • This role is hands on, and you will be required to perform some laboratory work as part of your duties.
  • Prioritise work
- flow to meet client's requirements

  • Ensure results are released within agreed turnaround times
  • Liaise with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, all scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
  • Review and update all laboratory documentation as required

About you

  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
  • Must hold AIMS accreditation
  • At least 3 years' experience in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships
  • Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline
  • Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver
  • Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
