The Opportunity:


We are looking for an open minded and enthusiastic Spatial Analyst to join our National Spatial team based in our Melbourne office.

This exciting role offers you the opportunity to make an immediate impact by contributing to a highly regarded city-shaping infrastructure project and engage in diverse work within Urbis' multi-disciplinary business offerings.

You will collaborate with leading industry specialists, benefit from a dynamic environment, and quickly advance your spatial career.

You will:


  • Liaise with consulting staff at all levels of the business to raise awareness of how spatial analysis can contribute to client outcomes.
  • Compose maps, with varying levels of complexity from simple to complex, fitting with the corporate brand and standard product specifications as well as cartographic principals to client defined requirements.
  • Undertake geoprocessing, including concatenation of simple and complex attribute and spatial queries for map display and/or data extraction.
  • Ensure a consistency of products flowing out of the GIS team to the wider business.
  • Assist in providing input into draft proposals, tenders and submissions for potential projects.

About You:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Geographic Information Systems or a related discipline
  • Working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and A.G.O.L as well as QGIS and the Microsoft desktop suite
  • Experience with a wide variety of spatial data types, including their creation and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to network with other team members and peers to develop strong internal relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Ability to explain patterns of use in the urban environment using both 2d and 3d spatial data.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret research data.
  • Computer literacy including but not limited to Microsoft Office and research databases.
