CONTENT STRATEGIST


This is the perfect role for someone who loves storytelling in all forms and truly understands how to harness content's power to build brands and deliver results.


Based in our Sydney the office, you'll report into Heads & Tales' Head of Content and partner with our network Strategy & Innovation Director to build, engage and influence audiences for our varied content marketing and publishing clients.


You're across the latest trends in digital content, content marketing, and publishing and know how to identify the sweet spot between what audiences want, what brands can deliver, and what competitors aren't doing well; and can develop creative, data-informed and insight-led content plans that achieve client goals.

You're not afraid to sink your teeth into anything be it a B2C or B2B challenge, an existing client or new business.

We're experts in content strategy, content creation and custom publishing, working with some of Australia's most respected brands in retail, insurance, health, auto and culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Be the primary strategic content planning contact and help to develop client relationships with the Account Director. You will live and breathe client's businesses (and their category) and always be a step ahead, anticipating needs and seeing opportunities for them to utilise content to drive brand or business outcomes.
  • Create the overarching content strategy for your clients in partnership with the Head of Content and oversee its implementation. As part of this you will conduct content audits and simple SEO research, undertake social analysis, establish content measurement frameworks, develop personas, and craft basic user journeys.
  • Respond to new briefs and develop proposals and recommendations that meet client requirements/goals within the specified budget, collaborating with the Heads & Tales agency team, and other Hardie Grant Media agencies.
  • Briefing and galvanising the Heads & Tales creative team leads and Sherpa Studio to fulfil content development requirements and ensuring outputs are aligned to the content strategy.
  • Partnering with Reload Media and Tide Communications you will oversee content distribution across paid and earned media and fully integrate the content experience (where relevant).

You're confident, clear, and engaging with excellent written and verbal skills. You can sell strategic recommendations and conceptual ideas in plain language, so clients and colleagues understand them. You're also quite handy with Canva, PowerPoint or Keynote, developing presentation decks that have wow factor.

You're a big picture thinker that gets equally obsessed by the details. Even the most ambitious ideas can be broken down into bite-sized chunks of work across a timeline.
