About BaptistCare Dorothy Henderson Lodge
An inviting aged care home conveniently located on the Macquarie Park campus, Dorothy Henderson Lodge is home to a thriving community that supports you to live the life you want.
The Lodge provides 66 single rooms for residents, and 14 secure rooms for those who need higher level of dementia support.
Enjoy the convenience of an on-site hairdresser, podiatrist, physiotherapist, social outings, a well-resourced library, church services and many other benefits.
Blessed with spacious sitting areas and lush, well-kept gardens, you will find plenty of space to sit back and put your feet up.
Or, if you prefer to get out and about for the day, we have a full calendar of activities for you to get involved with - it's entirely up to you.
About the role
As the Recreational Activities Officer, you will drive the engagement and participation of residents into a range of social, recreational and cultural activities, as well as mental health and wellbeing programs that empower our resident's choices and independence.
In planning and organising all recreational activity programs, you will ensure individual residents' needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences are taken into account.
**This is Permanent Part time- 60 hrs per fortnight****The hours are 10am4pm or 10.30am
- 4.30pm Mon-Fri**
Skills and experience - You have completed Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle (or willing to complete) and experience working with people with Dementia
- You hold a current NSW/ACT Drivers Licence and will be able to take clients on outings
- Senior First Aid Certificate is essential
- You have previous experience in caring for the elderly within an Aged or Community Care setting
- You have highly developed organisation and time management skills
- You have an understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
