Description

In the role of Technical Officer (ITS) you will be responsible for the production of traffic signal software configurations compatible with traffic signal controllers throughout Queensland in accordance with the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and Austroads.

This position will require technical knowledge and expertise for Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) and have direct management and control of the ATMS to deliver efficient traffic flow on state and local government road networks.

Accountabilities include:

Develop and test configuration files for the traffic signal controller in accordance with design drawings and TMR policy guidelines.
Develop the design and Asconstructed drawings using ACAD, in compliance with TMR policy guidelines.
Undertaking external and internal activities required to maintain operational efficiency and safety of traffic flow delivered through the ATMS.
Provide technical and operational advice to internal and external stakeholders.

Mandatory requirements:

Advanced Diploma / Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical /Electronics/ Telecommunications/ Mechatronics or Computer Science Language and Programming.

Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:

Road traffic signalling theory and operation, configuration and testing of traffic signals.
Understanding of appropriate electrical safety standards and traffic signal controller specifications.
Traffic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics or Computer Science Language and Programming.
