About the role:


We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team, leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients and patients of SydPath, Anatomical Pathology.

This role is working as a Technical Officer in the Histology unit each Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am to 5pm. Duties include embedding and microtomy.

Selection Criteria:


  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
  • Diploma in Pathology Techniques or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in Histology or willingness to learn, ability to follow defined protocols and procedures with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail
  • Willingness to learn the use and maintenance of all equipment within Histology area
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment and work within flexible working hours
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills and experience or willingness to learn the use of a laboratory information system
  • Demonstrate time management skills and ability to meet set KPI's
  • Demonstrate knowledge of quality improvement, accreditation and OH&S requirements in relation to Histology
