About the role of Commercial Manager:

Commercial Manager is responsible for risk management, compliance with contractual requirements, and commercial and financial management of all relevant projects throughout all stages of the construction process from tender to completion.

You will be provided with high levels of autonomy with highly skilled project teams to ensure all policies and processes are in place to deliver projects on time, in accordance with contractual obligations, and to meet or exceed Icon and client objectives.


Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Contract management and administration
  • Cost reporting and forecasting
  • Procurement including drafting / finalisation of subcontracts
  • Assessment of progress and subcontractor payments
  • Sub contract variation management
  • Preparing and submitting variations to the client
  • Assistance to Project Managers in putting together contractual/legal claims
  • Risk Management (including Risk Identification and Mitigation)

Experience required:


  • Tertiary degree, in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Engineering
  • Extensive experience in managing largescale projects, preferably exceeding $70 million, particularly in the fields of healthcare, multiresidential, and defense projects
  • Minimum 10 + years of experience in large scale construction projects
  • Strong Commercial experience with a similar builder
